I spot Vivi Dot!

Selling things online can feel pretty impersonal sometimes. You don't get to hear people react and get excited about their purchase, you just get the details of the order, a name and an address. Don't get me wrong, I love that my handmade creations go out to their place in the world to be worn and loved, and given as gifts. I simply love it even more when I see with my own eyes that they've made the recipient happy.

My heart has been filled with joy a lot recently as beautiful ladies I do and don't know are spotted wearing my accessories. Here are some of my favs. First up is the lovely Liz of Srslyliz.com. She looks fabulous from head to toe and is wearing a Raspberry Lace Watch Necklace in the new antiqued brass finish. Here's the beautiful Ashley of Plumeria Avenue wearing some Vivi Dot earrings in one of my favorite prints, Blue Blossoms.Now let's head over to Where My Heart Resides to see what Ashlee is up to. Ashlee was so lovely to feature my shop in her 'Shop Love' post early last month. I sent her a Swings Polaroid Necklace as a thank you for her sweet post and she instantly put it to good use with this adorable outfit. Yet another Ashley who blogs over at That is All purchased a Tea Time Ring for a friend's birthday. It couldn't have been a better fit for how they celebrated - it matched their whole party in both theme and color scheme! So cute!

Caroline of Woodnote Photography recently placed an order and left a sweet little note in the 'notes' section at checkout. It made my day and reminded me to do the same when i shop handmade. I like to think that my site and packaging and everything that goes into Vivi Dot is very professional, just like big time retailers, but at the end of the day I'm simply one person making everything with love as it's ordered just for you.

How Do You Wear Your Vivi Dots?

I've had two fantastic Vivi Dot customers send me some photos of themselves sporting their purchases recently and I just can resist sharing them here. First up is Sher who won a gift certificate over at Cali Vintage. She picked out a bunch of rings and some earrings and then did a very pretty post about them on her blog Beneath the Crystal Stars. She also captured her Delicate Lace Ring in an outfit post she did the next week! I can't wait to see how she incorporates more of her Vivi Dot items into her picture perfect outfits. Next up is a mini Vivi Dot customer named Amaya. She's the cutest and is obviously reading the Dot Girl Blog as this was captured. She couldn't possibly make her Red and White Hair Bow Barrettes look any more adorable!

Prague Log

So waaay back in April I went on a fabulous holiday with some of my girlfriends from college. We made a quick stop in London and then ventured off to Prague for a week of sightseeing, eating and drinking. As per usual, I had high hopes about how I could share our adventures here on the Dot Girl Blog, but then failed to make time to execute my lofty ambitions. So instead of carrying the guilt of a missed opportunity around with me I've decided to share tidbits of our excursions as I find time to do so.
I'll start off by sharing some photos I captured of my friends sporting their Vivi Dot gear. This is Andrea sporting a bright green Chrysanthemum Vivi Dot Flower Brooch. She's partaking in one of our favorite finds from the trip, Potato Soup. This delicious soup was on just about every menu, until we were seeking it out on our last night. After seeing it and having it nearly each place we ate, we spent over an hour hunting it down for our last meal in town. And here's lovely Stacey wearing two Private School Plaid hair clips on our walking tour up to the Prague Castle.Okay, so there's not Vivi Dot item in this shot, but I can't post about Pruage and leave out the pivo! And finally here's a pic of my Traveling Gnome Earring posing by the candlelight at one of our scrumptious and wine fueled dinners. Remember Me?!?

It's been too long! The guilt of not finding the time to post has become quite unbearable and I'm happy to finally clear my conscious. My blog post to do list is long, but I'd like to start by pointing out two lovely new players in the game of Spot the Dot!

Back from Afar!

I've returned from afar and apologize for my prolonged absence. I'm especially sorry to Isil from the blog Work In Progress who has been earning Spot the Dot points while I was away. Spot the Dot - How to Play

Let's play a game! The name of the game is 'Spot the Dot' and anyone can play. Think of it as a Vivi Dot scavenger hunt that takes place both online and off! You can easily earn earn vivi-points for spotting Vivi Dot products in person or online, posting photos of yourself wearing or using your Vivi Dot purchases, etc. Top point earners will win free Vivi Dot merchandise and everyone who earns 30 points gets a free gift!

More vivi-point opportunities will be created as we play so please share any ideas you have in the comments section.

Here are some of the easy ways you can earn vivi-points:
1) Post a photo of yourself wearing your Vivi Dot products on your blog, msypace page, etc. Post the link in the comments section of any Dot Girl Blog post and earn 10 vivi-points. I'll post your photos here and link back to your blog post too.

2) Spot someone wearing Vivi Dot products or stop by a show or store where you'll find Vivi Dot items for sale. Post a comment here with the details of your Vivi Dot encounter (where, when, who, what item, etc). Earn 2 vivi-points for posting your details and 10 bonus points if you get a photo (with permission from the subject of course). If you don't have a photo I have to take your word on this one so please play fair, be specific and no cheating.

3) Find Vivi Dot in the news or blogosphere and earn vivi-points. Get 2 vivi-points for posting a comment on the article or blog post (if it's possible) and then post a comment here about what you found. Get 5 extra vivi-points if it's something I didn't already know about.

4) Make a Vivi Dot purchase. If you make a purchase from the Vivi Dot Online Store make sure to say "I'm playing Spot the Dot" in the comments box at check out to earn 10 vivi-points AND get a free gift with that order.

5) Post about the Spot the Dot scavenger hunt on your blog or website and earn 10 vivi-points. Tell me about your post in the comments section.
