Support a Vivi Dot Favorite!

Needles and Pens not only happens to be my favorite shop for all things zine related, it also happens to be one of the first stores to carry Vivi Dot (way back in ye olde 2007).


Some of my favorite knick knacks have been purchased from the charmingly small DIY goods/zine/gallery space located in the Mission district. It has always been my go-to for zines, affordable art, handmade clothing, jewelry and art books. They also have an impressive free pile next to the front door. Fundamentally, Needles and Pens is an incredibly supportive resource for not only local but international folks with a similar dedication to DIY ethics and community.

They need to gather 175 more votes in order to qualify for a $250,000 grant that will help keep the business floating along, and it takes two seconds! I'll break it down for you:

1. Visit MissionSmallBusiness.com and click the "Log in and Support" and log in via Facebook.
2. Search for Needles and Pens
3. Click on the blue "Vote" button next to their name!

In three easy steps, you've completed your good deed of the day. Phew.

N.E.E.T Faves

N.E.E.T magazine, an independently owned and operated free online magazine is one of our favorites. I must say that I'm continually impressed with N.E.E.T's content (chalk full of recipes, super inspiring DIY crafts, and interviews with cool people doing cool things) as well as their AMAZING photo shoots.
